How to Rule the World
I just finished reading “How to Rule the World: An Education in Power at Stanford University” by Theo Baker.
Another great recommendation from both Peter and Bonnie. A recurring phrase is the “Stanford within Stanford”. Seeing as I never formally studied there, the former will remain ever elusive. We can see the campus from home every day and many colleagues are alumni. I’ve met some of the types described in the book, including one of the cited wealthy professors. So altogether an interesting read on the local institution.
One resonant phrase is the chapter title “Solve for the People”. Motivating and a worthy take-away above much of the crazy stuff described in this book.
